SpekWork Studio
Digital artists Cat Bluemke (b. 1993, Waterloo, ON) and Jonathan Carroll (b. 1990, Antigonish, NS), known as SpekWork Studio, create interactive games, comics, immersive reality experiences, and live performances. Their work examines technology’s role in blurring the lines between work and play, exploring its dual nature as a labor-saving tool and an instrument of exploitation. They focus on the struggles of precarious workers, drawing from their experiences as digital freelancers. With ten years of international exhibitions, including Rhizome, the New Museum, and the Venice Architecture Biennale, they have received support from the Canada Council for the Arts and other organizations.
MacKenzie Art Gallery
Located in Treaty 4 territory, the MacKenzie Art Gallery is Saskatchewan’s oldest public art gallery, with a fifty-year history of championing Indigenous art from Indigenous perspectives. The MacKenzie embraces its unique position within the Canadian and international art landscape, celebrating the diverse perspectives of all artists within the plains region and Canada. It has a focus on Indigenous and contemporary art, contextualized through select historic and international work.
Gallery TPW
Gallery TPW is a leading artist-run centre dedicated to exhibiting underrepresented artistic and curatorial practices that push the boundaries of lens-based work. Since its formation in 1977, Gallery TPW (originally Toronto Photographers Workshop) has evolved alongside changes in the production, distribution and perception of photography, film and video. Our diverse roster of exhibitions, screenings, performances, commissioned writing, and public programs expands awareness of the vital role that images play in contemporary culture.
EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society
EMMEDIA is an artist-run, non-profit and electronic media arts centre that supports the production and presentation of media arts since 1979. The Society responds to a broad community by offering affordable access to media art production tools, services, technical and educational support, and a year-round schedule of public exhibition programs including the PARTICLE + WAVE Media Arts Festival. Our programs strive to foster artistic dialogue and engagement through complementary activities such as artist talks and panel discussions, workshops and publications.
Centre for Art Tapes
Founded in 1979, The Centre for Art Tapes is a not-for-profit artist-run, charitable organization that facilitates and supports artists at all levels working with electronic media including video, audio, and new media. CFAT is devoted to the exchange of ideas among diverse artists through experimentation, mentorship, presentation, and research. CFAT supports artists working with media technologies by providing subsidized public access to professional equipment, facilities, technical expertise, educational resources, mentorship, and other forms of professional and creative support.
CYENS Centre of Excellence
CYENS Centre of Excellence is a Cyprus-based centre for research and innovation with a focus on interactive media, smart systems and emerging technologies, aiming to empower knowledge and technology transfer in the region. Its Thinker Maker Space is a multifunctional creative space that supports local entrepreneurs, designers, artists and researchers and promotes technology led innovation by encouraging the local creative community to develop projects that utilise digital fabrication techniques and rapid prototyping.
